Super Bowl Ticket Prices Going Up As The Game Nears
(UPDATED: 2-1-2011) As Super Bowl ticket supply exploded last week, average Super Bowl ticket prices decreased. Now that the inflow of Super Bowl tickets from Jets fans, Bears fans and others have stopped entering the market, ticket supply is going down and Super Bowl prices are going back up. Super Bowl tickets on Feb 1, 2011 average $4,622 (including provider fees) — up nearly $1,000 since Saturday.
Lowest price tickets remain $2,000 ($2,200 with seller fees) — similar to last week.
Also interesting is the stark contrast to last year, which saw average Super Bowl ticket prices stay in the $2,000s while generally trending down as the Super Bowl game approached. Not so this year. Both teams fans travel exceedingly well and everything’s big in Texas — especially football.
With all the ups and downs in the ticket market comes tremendous variability in ticket prices for ostensibly the same tickets. Right now, fans can save as much as 43%. Our crack engineering staff created this handy chart to show fans where they can find the best deals whenever the fan comes for the site. Check out the Lower End 325 seats. They’re available right now for $2,750 — 43% less than the average price for comparable tickets ($4148).
For fans who want to compare all 7,000+ listings, no problem. They’re all plotted on a seating chart of Cowboy Stadium. We took the map a step further and made it dynamic so fans can see the view from their seat and compare tickets by row.
