Eminem & Jay-Z take on Detroit
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010This is going to be big. Eminem and Jay-Z tickets are the hottest thing going. In fact, one Live Nation spokesperson said the mega-concert has brought the heaviest ticket demand they’ve ever experienced.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the Sept. 2 & 3 Eminem and Jay-Z shows have been months in the making. World-renowned lighting and scene designers were enlisted and specialists have been working 15-hour days, crafting stage renderings and configuring logistics.
The Detroit Eminem and Jay-Z concert is part of a two-city tour in which the superstar rappers are playing each other’s hometown baseball stadiums. The duo will perform at Yankee Stadium in New York on Sept. 13 & 14. So how does a production this big travel? 50+semitrailers will haul the set, lighting, etc. — more than the typical continental tour by the Rolling Stones or U2.
And a special treat for fans, Eminem will be backed by a live band. How about that for one of hip-hop’s greatest? This is definitely a show not to be missed. While Eminem and Jay-Z tickets are sold out at the box office, a quick search on FanSnap shows more than 1,200 tickets available for each Detroit show.
