Eminem & Jay-Z take on Detroit

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

This is going to be big. Eminem and Jay-Z tickets are the hottest thing going. In fact, one Live Nation spokesperson said the mega-concert has brought the heaviest ticket demand they’ve ever experienced.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Sept. 2 & 3 Eminem and Jay-Z shows have been months in the making. World-renowned lighting and scene designers were enlisted and specialists have been working 15-hour days, crafting stage renderings and configuring logistics.

The Detroit Eminem and Jay-Z concert is part of a two-city tour in which the superstar rappers are playing each other’s hometown baseball stadiums. The duo will perform at Yankee Stadium in New York on Sept. 13 & 14. So how does a production this big travel? 50+semitrailers will haul the set, lighting, etc. — more than the typical continental tour by the Rolling Stones or U2.

And a special treat for fans, Eminem will be backed by a live band. How about that for one of hip-hop’s greatest? This is definitely a show not to be missed. While Eminem and Jay-Z tickets are sold out at the box office, a quick search on FanSnap shows more than 1,200 tickets available for each Detroit show.

Check out the two artists on Letterman!

JAY-Z AND EMINEM’S “HOME AND HOME” TOUR DATES INCLUDE:
September 2 Detroit, MI Comerica Park
September 3 Detroit, MI Comerica Park
September 13 New York, NY Yankee Stadium
September 14 New York, NY Yankee Stadium

Since 1996, 10-time Grammy award-winner, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter has dominated the rap industry and set trends for a generation. Through his own label, Roc Nation, JAY-Z released The Blueprint 3, his 11th number one album, putting him ahead of Elvis for the most number one albums by any solo artist. JAY-Z has fostered the careers of international stars Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Kanye West while continuing philanthropic work through his Water for Life initiative and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.

EMINEM has sold more than 80,000,000 albums worldwide and has won 11 Grammy Awards and an Academy Award. He was recently named Nielsen SoundScan Artist of the Decade, having sold more records than any other artist for the years 2000-2009. His new album, Recovery, will be released on June 21. “Not Afraid,” the first single off Recovery, soared to #1 on the iTunes chart and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first time a rap artist has accomplished the feat in 15 years.

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

While Justin Bieber tickets, Jack Johnson tickets and Trey Sonz tickets have been the hot sellers for 2010, next year could be a whole different story.

TicketMaster Chairman Irving Azoff, gave us a sneak peek at the artists who could be touring next year. Those who made the list – Kenny Chesney, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, Neil Diamond and Christina Aguilera. Talk about big names who should be filling arenas in 2011. Not to mention Lady Gaga, who already announced concert dates for the upcoming year.

David Lee Roth and the whole Van Halen crew were the focus of a recent Billboard.com story which fueled the rumor mill, stating, “The clearest signs that an album and tour are in the works for next year have emerged.” The band is supposedly in the studio working on an album. Once those tunes are released, they’ll hit the road.

This would be Van Halen’s first studio album since 1998. So will Van Halen tickets be hot sellers? If their 2008 reunion tour is any indication, the answer is a definite yes. The reunion tour was a massive success, grossing more than $93 million and close to one million in attendance from 74 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Stay tuned right here for the latest on Van Halen tickets as well as all of 2011′s hottest tours.

Monday, August 9th, 2010

The band is currently trekking through Europe hitting Spain, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and more. Fans are raving about the shows saying Bono is bouncing around like his old self – no signs of back surgery. U2 ticket holders are loving the mix of their favorite songs, including  “Beautiful Day,” “Mysterious Ways,” and “I Still  Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” which seem to make the set list of every show!

The band heads back the United States next spring and there are still plenty of U2 tickets available. In addition to the tunes they are currently playing, MTV.com is reporting U2 is hard at work on a new album – a “club-sounding album” – and that they hope to have it out in time for the North American tour. This of course is in addition to the tunes they have penned for the new Broadway musical, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”

Wow. These guys never take a break! Even when they are laid up in bed following major back surgery.

U2 tours are always amazing. The band currently has 16 North American dates slotted starting in May 2011 and wrapping up in June. Don’t miss your chance to catch them live. Find your U2 tickets with FanSnap!

Arcade Fire Tickets, New Album and Webcast!

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Arcade Fire tickets are selling fast with the band set to release their new album, “The Suburbs,” next week. The album will roll out on Aug. 2 in the UK and a day later in Canada and the U.S.

The band disappointed quite a few when they announced just six U.S. shows. Fans in Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Boston, Columbia MD and Toronto can grab their Arcade Fire tickets now to check out the new album. And for fans not in those areas, the band just announced they will webcast the Aug. 5 Arcade Fire Madison Square Garden show for all to see. Tune to the concert at 10 p.m. EDT on the band’s vevo page.

Want a sneak peek at the new album, check out this clip from “The Suburbs.”

Arcade Fire is quite the independent band. According to Billboard, they own their own recording studio, master recordings and publishing rights; license those rights to different labels across the globe, territory by territory; refuse corporate sponsorships, private-party gigs and most commercial placements; and call all their own shots. Mac McCaughan, co-founder of Merge Records, the North Carolina-based indie label that released Arcade Fire’s first two albums in North America, anticipates that “The Suburbs” will be the biggest-selling album in the label’s 20-plus-year history.
