LSU Tigers tickets take the 8th spot on our countdown of the hottest college football tickets. LSU fans are incredibly passionate, and with this energy comes high expectations. And let’s just say, last year’s 9-4 season was not what they had in mind.
Ah yes, the fans in Baton Rouge aren’t very happy with the team of late. Just three years removed from a national championship and Les Miles is on the hot seat.
So could this be the year? The SEC West has quickly become one of the toughest divisions in college football. LSU will have their work cut out for them to keep up with the national champion Alabama Crimson Tide as well as up and comers Auburn and Arkansas.
Of course LSU Tigers tickets will still be some of the hottest in the country. They start the season on the road against North Carolina and also face away games at Florida and Auburn. LSU-Arkansas tickets and LSU-Alabama tickets will be popular one as well.
Here’s LSU’s schedule. Less than two weeks until kick-off against the TarHeels. It’s not too late to grab your LSU Tigers tickets.
We all recall Brett Favre retiring and then unretiring and re-retiring and re-unretiring. Favre has caught flack for being indecisive in the past and has always taken it in stride. Last year, Vikings fans expected Favre to join the team for the 2009 season. When, instead Favre announced his retirement Vikings ticket prices on the ticket market dropped dramatically. Ticket prices stayed down for weeks until Brett Favre announced he would re-unretire and indeed play for Minnesota in 2009. The Favre Effect on Vikings tickets was dramatic.
This year Vikings fans suffered similarly when Favre debated returning for the 2010 season after ankle surgery. After an indecisive off-season. Favre is back with the Vikings for another Super Bowl run. Fans too are on board. Demand for Vikings tickets on the ticket market has jumped by an average of more than $50 per ticket for home games.
The hottest Vikings home games are:
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $230
Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $182
Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $150
Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $122
New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $121
Buffalo Bills @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $98
Miami Dolphins @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $98
Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings tickets average $91
The hottest Vikings away games are:
Minnesota Vikings @ New Orleans Saints tickets average $587
Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers tickets average $466
Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears tickets average $311

Tennessee Volunteers tickets are the 9th hottest in the nation, showing the confidence fans have in their new coach, Derek Dooley and new quarterback Matt Simms. It’s likely to be a wild ride for the Volunteers. The team is eager to erase the memory of last year’s season-ending loss to Virginia Tech in the bowl game, not to mention an off-season filled with drama.
So what can we expect from Tennessee this year? Any way you slice it, this is a young team. Simms, while a pedigree QB, will be making his first start. Not to mention, half of the 10 players listed on the two-deep offensive line depth chart are freshmen. On the defensive side of the ball, Tennessee has to replace All-Star Eric Berry who was taken early by the Kansas City Chiefs in the draft. They’ve also already suffered some devastating injuries in camp.
The players on the field may be green, but they are hungry and its just this type of group that can rally together and pull an upset if an opponent isn’t ready. Trying to decide which games to get Tennessee Volunteers tickets to? Luckily for fans, the schedule is packed with exciting match-ups.
The Vols host Oregon and Florida in back-to-back weeks during September, followed by an October home game against the BCS national champions. Tennessee-Alabama tickets are sure to be hot, however FanSnap has you covered. We currently show more than 6,000 tickets for the game, starting at $60.
Last week we shared the Top 25 College FanDemand Rankings, based on college football demand.Over the next couple of weeks we’ll preview each of the top 10 teams, providing everything you need to know about your favorite teams and the must-see games! Starting off, the West Virginia Mountaineers.
West Virginia Mountaineers tickets are ranked #10 on our list, however the team is ranked number #24 in both the USA Today and The Sporting News polls. They return 18 starters including speedy running back Noel Devine. But even with all that talent its going to be a battle in the Big East, with most pundits already awarding the conference title to Pittsburgh.
Since the turn of the century, the West Virginia Mountaineers have been an exciting football team to watch. They have finished in the top 25 6 times since 2000, and have won the Big East in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007. However, the Mountaineers have some tough match-ups on the schedule, including a Sept 25 visit to Baton Rouge. The game is slated for a 7pm start so you know the Tiger fans are going to be rowdy. West Virginia-LSU tickets are going to be hot ones.
Other key games include West Virginia-UNLV on 10/9; West Virginia-Maryland on 9/18 and West Virginia-Pittsburgh on 11/26. FanSnap currently shows more than 3,000 tickets for the Pitt game, starting at $51.
As we await the opening day of the NFL when the Minnesota Vikings visit the New Orleans Saints on September 9, there are plenty of interesting story lines to watch out for during this weekend’s pre-season games. Below is a list of the “hottest” games this weekend, according to the “FanSnap 60 Index,” which ranks events by average ticket price.
There are a number of different underlying stories to look out for this weekend. Tim Tebow, two-time National Champion and Heisman Trophy Winning quarterback for the Denver Broncos may make his home debut at Invesco Field. It should be interesting to see how he fits in with the new Denver Bronco’s offense.
We will also see the re-uniting of coach Mike Shanahan and Clinton Portis in Washington. The duo was once potent in Denver from 2002-2003, where Portis won a Rookie of the Year Award under Shanahan’s run heavy offense. Can this team, with the addition of star quarterback Donovan McNabb, mesh well enough in the pre-season to come out firing in September?

We noticed we were blogging a lot about live events in Boston and New York. That’s not a surprise given that the amount of events going on in both cities throughout the year. Fans in these cities have to choose what they want to do on any given night: sometimes its between a baseball game in the Bronx, a concert at PNC, or a show on Broadway. Or its sitting atop the Green Monster at Fenway versus a country music festival at Gillette Stadium. Tough life. We make it easier.
We’re creating new FanSnap blogs for Boston and New York. Each blog will be the go-to resource for all things sports, tickets, and theatre related within each respective city. We will provide you with the best possible tools to help guide you towards the events you want to see.
For example, weekly FanSnap 60 Index’s on in both Boston and New York rank the “hottest” concerts in each given metro area. We follow closely each professional sports team home and away appearances, and we can help point you to the best valued ticket available on the secondary ticket market. Each specific blog is also a great place to find any sort of breaking news on anything ticket related, as well as commentary from bloggers within each city’s home crowd.
When you look at the USA Today preseason poll, Alabama and Florida are in the top 5, but the next SEC team doesn’t come into play until LSU at #16. Arkansas weighs in at #19 and Georgia and Auburn round out the bottom of the rankings at #21 and #23 respectively. Of course those rankings are based on what’s likely to happen on the field. Off the field and in the stands, the SEC stands as the conference with the most sought after tickets.
The FanSnap Top 25 College FanDemand Rankings include 7 SEC teams, more than any other conference. By comparison, the Big 12 is the next closest league with only 5 teams.
When we breakdown the SEC , we see that BCS National Champions, Alabama Crimson Tide, command the highest dollar. Average ticket price to watch a game in Tuscaloosa is $504 (the second hottest ticket in the nation behind Ohio State). The Tide have only two returning starters on defense, but the man of the hour, Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram will be back running wild on the field.
While its not much of a surprise, that Alabama tickets are at the top of our list, we were shocked to see that Georgia Bulldogs tickets are the second hottest SEC ticket ranking above Florida Gators tickets. The Gators have a ton of talent coming back and ring in a new era with heralded QB John Brantley. The Florida-Georgia October 30th match-up in Jacksonville will definitely be one you don’t want to miss.
Auburn Tigers tickets, LSU Tigers tickets and Tennessee Volunteers tickets fall 7, 8 and 9 respectively showing their tickets are attracting similar demand. While the South Carolina Gamecocks tickets come in at #18. Many preseason predictors have the Gamecocks coming in ahead of Tennessee and Georgia in the SEC East so this could get interesting. Finally, despite ranking in the top 20 of the USA Today poll, the Arkansas Razorbacks just barely missed our list coming in at #26.
This has definitely been an off-season many SEC teams want to forget. From brawls with Tennessee football players to iffy deals with agents, fans are ready to stop hearing about the off-the-field drama and are eagerly awaiting kickoff. We’re seeing strong demand for almost every SEC team and there are certainly some epic battles ahead of us this season.

Americans Andy Roddick and John Isner may sit back a few spots on the ATP Rankings, but with some rowdy New York fans behind them, they may just be able to play deep into the U.S. Open and pull off some upsets.
As has been the case for many years now at Flushing Meadows, the Williams sisters are among the favorites to advance to the finals. Serena is sitting atop the World Ranking, and is most likely to hoist the US Open trophy again this year (as she won last year).

Like most of last year, Ohio State Buckeye tickets are once again at the top of the list, with the reigning BCS Champions, Alabama not far behind. Notre Dame tickets and USC Trojans tickets rank 3rd and 4th. Both teams had big coaching changes and should be fun to watch. The biggest surprise – Texas Longhorn tickets - despite coming off a BCS appearance and being ranked in the top 5 in many polls, the Longhorns sit at the bottom of our list.
Slicing and dicing the data in other ways, we get an interesting glimpse into conference demand. With 3 of the top 6, and 7 teams total, its clear SEC games are the most sought after. Other conferences with multiple teams on our list include the Big 12 (5 teams), Big 10 (4 teams), ACC (3 teams) and Sun Belt (2 teams). The Big East, Conference-USA, and Pac-10 all have one team. Notre Dame is the only independent.

TicketMaster Chairman Irving Azoff, gave us a sneak peek at the artists who could be touring next year. Those who made the list – Kenny Chesney, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, Neil Diamond and Christina Aguilera. Talk about big names who should be filling arenas in 2011. Not to mention Lady Gaga, who already announced concert dates for the upcoming year.
David Lee Roth and the whole Van Halen crew were the focus of a recent Billboard.com story which fueled the rumor mill, stating, “The clearest signs that an album and tour are in the works for next year have emerged.” The band is supposedly in the studio working on an album. Once those tunes are released, they’ll hit the road.
This would be Van Halen’s first studio album since 1998. So will Van Halen tickets be hot sellers? If their 2008 reunion tour is any indication, the answer is a definite yes. The reunion tour was a massive success, grossing more than $93 million and close to one million in attendance from 74 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore.
Stay tuned right here for the latest on Van Halen tickets as well as all of 2011′s hottest tours.
Last week, the NBA released its initial Opening Week and Holiday Schedule for the 2010-2011 NBA Season. Fans are clearly excited to see the new trio of James, Wade, and Bosch, now all playing for the Miami Heat.
When the Heat had their home opener against the New York Knicks last year, average ticket prices were $116. This year, with King James and company, Heat tickets for the home opener average $805. What a different a year makes. And the LeBron Effect doesn’t hurt either.
The reigning NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers are the hotlist, as the team looks to give coach Phil Jackson his twelfth NBA Championship.

After shoulder inflammation landed the star pitcher on the Nationals’ 15-day Disabled List, Stephen Strasburg is set to return to Washington’s rotation tonight against the Florida Marlins.
In June and July, Strasburg was the biggest name in baseball. We’ve been keeping a close eye on the “Strasburg Effect” on Nations ticket prices. Has the time on the DL made fans hearts grow fonder or made them forget what all the hullabaloo was about?
Prior to the All-Star break, tickets to Nationals home games that Strasburg starts averaged $58.10. Tickets to the other games in series when Strasburg did not start average $25.99. That’s a 123% Strasburg Effect.
This week, Stephen Strasburg starts on Tuesday at home against the Florida Marlins and is a probable starter for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The combined average price for these games in which Strasburg starts is $47. For the four games in between, the combined average price is $36. That is a 30% increase.
Tickets to Strasburg’s starts have averaged $58. For his two starts since returning from the DL tickets average $47, that’s an 18% decrease in average ticket prices to see Strasburg pitch since being sidelined.
Ticket prices for today’s game peaked at $58 –Five days ago.
From this data, we see that the Strasburg effect is still influencing Washington National’s ticket prices, but not by as much as he was when he made his first splash in the Big Leagues in June. Assuming he returns to his dominant self, we expect tickets to see Stephen Strasburg pitch to return to pre-DL levels.
Lady Gaga had another memorable performance at Lollapalooza, her first time back at the festival since her debut in 2007. For fans in Los Angeles, she’s headed your way next and its not too late to get your Lady Gaga tickets to catch her two-night performance at the Staples Center this Wednesday and Thursday.
Gaga drew a huge crowd for her Friday night performance at Lollapalozza where she surprised fans by jumping off stage and crowdsurfing. In addition to her schedule headlining set, she also joined Semi Precious Weapons at their stage earlier in the day.
In case you weren’t in the audience, here’s a great clip of Lady Gaga showing the fans a good time.
Lady Gaga tickets continue to be some of the hottest sellers. A quick search for Lady Gaga tickets on FanSnap for her Wednesday night show found numerous options starting at $83.
After Los Angeles, Gaga heads to Las Vegas. Her North American tour hitts 30+ cities before wrapping up September 19 in Raliegh.
Stay tuned right here for all the latest on Lady Gaga!
After undergoing emergency back surgery three months ago and being forced to reschedule their entire North American tour, Bono has returned to the stage! The band is currently trekking through Europe hitting Spain, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and more. Fans are raving about the shows saying Bono is bouncing around like his old self – no signs of back surgery. U2 ticket holders are loving the mix of their favorite songs, including “Beautiful Day,” “Mysterious Ways,” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” which seem to make the set list of every show!
The band heads back the United States next spring and there are still plenty of U2 tickets available. In addition to the tunes they are currently playing, MTV.com is reporting U2 is hard at work on a new album – a “club-sounding album” – and that they hope to have it out in time for the North American tour. This of course is in addition to the tunes they have penned for the new Broadway musical, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”
Wow. These guys never take a break! Even when they are laid up in bed following major back surgery.
U2 tours are always amazing. The band currently has 16 North American dates slotted starting in May 2011 and wrapping up in June. Don’t miss your chance to catch them live. Find your U2 tickets with FanSnap!
How they do it, I’ll never know, but fortunately for the jam band fanatics, Widespread Panic never seems to take a break. The band just finished a summer swing and has now announced their fall tour – another 29 dates, with some Widespread Panic tickets going on sale very soon. Widespread Nashville tickets go on sale tomorrow, 8/6 and Widespread Panic New Orleans tickets go on sale to the public 8/13.
The band’s latest tour will hit 20+ cities, including a few multiple-night runs. They’ll kick off at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, WV and will rap up in New Orleans for a three-night stand Oct 29-31. We’re guessing Widespread Panic in New Orleans on Halloween is going to be a hot ticket!
Panic’s summer tour featured 26 stops hitting most of the U.S. The band also made their first ever appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Don’t miss your chance to see number one pick, Sam Bradford line up in the huddle and throw his first professional pass. St. Louis Rams tickets go on sale tomorrow, August 6 at 10 a.m.
What can we expect from the former Oklahoma Sooner who sat out most of last year with a shoulder injury? Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo had this to say about his QB: “He’s got some feisty to him. I think that’s good in a quarterback.”
The team is going to need that spunk to reverse last year’s NFL-worst 1–15 record. The Rams bring back Steven Jackson who’s hopefully in store for another Pro Bowl year. The featured back rushed for 1,416 yards last year, second in the NFL and the fifth year in a row he’d topped 1,000.
The Rams have a favorable start to the season facing a post Kurt Warner Cardinal team, followed by games with Oakland and Washington. See below for the full Rams’ schedule and keep it right here for the latest on all the hottest NFL Tickets.
When two of the biggest names in baseball (if not all of sports) play against one another, fans and players alike expect great, exciting games. But when these teams two teams happen to be the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, there is much more on the line than just wins and losses.
Both teams NEED wins this weekend, as the Yanks just lost their division lead to the Rays, and the Sox are still six and a half back with the playoffs right around the corner. But arguably greater than that is the fact that when the Sox visit the Yankees, or vice versa, the balance of history is on the line. Red Sox – Yankees is the most famous, most storied, and most intense rivalry in all of American sports, and over a century of bragging rights hangs on the line when the two ball clubs meet.
Red Sox-Yankees tickets
Boston and New York are two of the biggest sports markets in the country, and both teams have an incredibly strong international fan base, so it is no surprise to see high ticket prices for the upcoming series this weekend.
So, the overall average New York Yankees tickets price for the series is $154. Seem high? When the Detroit Tigers visit the Bronx next week to play a three game series against the Yankees, the average series ticket price $60. Compare that to the average ticket price for all upcoming Yankees home games, $81, and it is clear just how excited baseball fans are to see these games.
Where to find the highest valued tickets
FanSnap is all about helping fans find the best possible values on tickets, no matter how high demand is for any particular event. Check out these great values on Red Sox-Yankees tickets:
On Friday, find two tickets in the left outfield, section 131 for $99 which is half of the average ticket price for this area.
For tickets to Saturdays game, sit in Terrance Infield 314 for only $58, which is a mind blowing 61% off the average price of $190.
And on Sunday, find some seriously good tickets in Champions Suite 29, right along the 3rd baseball, for $337, half off the average price similar tickets are going for on the secondary market.
With the addition of Jason Campbell and a return of one of the league’s top pass defenses, the Raiders should be one of the most improved teams in 2010 and will hopefully break their streak of losing seasons.
Of course Campbell won’t solve all of the team’s issues alone. Will his offensive line step up? Will Darren McFadden and Michael Bush be able to sustain a running game? And will the run defense manage to hold off some of the best backs in the league? We’ll find out the answer to that last question in week one when the Raiders match up against Chris Johnson and the Titans in Nashville. The team’s home opener will be in week two. Grab Raiders-Rams tickets to be in the stands to cheer on the team.
The Raiders have a winnable schedule, facing only three teams that made the playoffs last year. See below for the 2010 Raiders schedule and stay tuned right here as the season goes on for the latest on Oakland Raiders tickets.
