Average Price of BCS Championship Game Tickets Dropping

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

While the game and rematch of the SEC titans for the National title is heavily anticipated (by everyone except Oklahoma residents), market prices for the Allstate BCS National Championship Game : LSU vs Alabama have been dropping since their peak around Thanksgiving, and are currently averaging $2,175 per ticket.  There are still more than 5,000 tickets available on the open ticket market as FanSnap is finding tickets from at least 12 different ticket providers, starting at just under $1000 per ticket.

We have found tickets available on StubHub, TicketsNow, Razorgator, TicketNetwork, Ticket Solutions, AAATix.com, ASC Ticket Company, Golden Tickets, PrimeSport, Circle City Tickets, Great Seats, and Gold Coast Tickets.  Check back often and shop carefully using our interactive FanSnap Maps, as at any given point in time we regularly see asking prices vary by as much as 10-50% even for tickets in the same section.

We expect to see lots of buying and selling in the days before the big game as while this is basically a home game for LSU, it is an easy drive for Bama and other football fans across the south.  Plus lets face it, there are a lot worse places to spend January than the French Quarter!

Happy holidays!

NCAA College Football Bowl Season: Hottest Bowl Tickets

Monday, December 6th, 2010

The holidays are here, and ’tis the season to go bowling! This year, 35 bowls will close out the college football season — and crown the National Champion — starting in New Mexico (the New Mexico Bowl) on December 18 and concluding January 10 with the BCS National Championship Game between the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks.

We know there are a lot of bowls, but we here at FanSnap like to dig a little deeper. We know fans want to know which bowls have the hottest tickets and where does each team’s bowl rank in popularity when compared to the other bowls. We did just that. Take a look at the hottest 2010-11 bowl games.

  • The BCS Bowls are the premier bowl games, as they include the best teams in the country, and ticket demand typically reflects this. The top five of six in our FanDemand rankings are all BCS bowls, with the National Title Game claiming top spot with an average ticket price of more than $1000.
  • Interesting to see the Cotton Bowl Classic above both the Orange and Fiesta Bowl:  The Cotton Bowl features a Texas team, (the Texas A&M Aggies), which adds to the demand for Cotton Bowl tickets.
  • Another marquee match-up sits at #10 in FanDemand: the Michigan State Spartans take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Capital One bowl. This is going to be a great game, between two teams who could have easily been in a BCS bowl themselves this season.

Miami Football Tickets – a Good Time at the “U”

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

After last week’s big win over rival Florida State, University of Miami fans are pumped!  The team is looking great and just in time too.  Check out the next three HUGE games starting tonight, with two in Land Shark Stadium:

Fortunately there are lots of great tickets available!

If Miami can pull this off, they would be set up well for a BCS bid, although the rest of their schedule is not a cakewalk.  Gee, and you thought only ACC basketball was tough!
