Austin City Limits Festival and Bumbershoot Lineups Revealed

Monday, June 6th, 2011

If you have Austin City Limits Festival tickets or Bumbershoot tickets, you finally get to learn who is playing!

When we did our festival roundup last month, these were two of the biggest festivals yet to unveil their lineups. Of course ticket sales for both have been strong, but fans have been eagerly awaiting the official announcements! So which festival has the best lineup? What do you think?

If you have Austin City Limits Festival tickets, you’re headliners will include: Stevie Wonder, Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Kanye West and My Morning Jacket. And if you choose Bumbershoot tickets, you’ll see Daryl Hall & John Oats, Wiz Khalifa, Ray LaMontagne & the Parish Dogs, Broken Social Scene and The Presidents of the United States.

Of course with both of these festivals, the best part is catching the middle tier bands, many who you may have never heard of. Nothing beats wandering around and letting your ear guide your way. Hearing an awesome tune from a stage in the distance and slowly drifting that way. All of a sudden, a new favorite band!

Austin City Limits Festival tickets are just about sold out (all three-days are gone, only Sunday single days are left) but of course, a quick search on FanSnap and you’ll be all set. Bumbershoot tickets are also going fast. These are sure to be two awesome weekends. You don’t want to miss out! (more…)

Arcade Fire tickets make for happy Austinites!

FanSnap | Arcade Fire tickets

We scored some Arcade Fire tickets to the band’s Austin show on Tuesday. Let’s just say the Grammy winners for Album of the Year hit it out of the park! The energy, the sound, the dancing, the artistic flare…and of course the crazy video screens rolling in the background.

The show started with video trailers from Over the Edge and The Warriors, a nice little transition from the chill Explosions in the Sky who played earlier. The eight band members popped up on stage and opened with “Month of May” which definitely got the crowd up on their feet. The set list included many old favorites including “Haiti” and “No Cars Go,” with of course a few songs from their newest album, The Suburbs.

If you have a chance to get Arcade Fire tickets – two words – DO IT! The band delivers an incredible live performance. Of course their vocal talent rocks and they are all over the stage dancing, but then you add in an instrumental fun house with guitars, drums, an organ, a piano, a cello, an accordion, maracas, tambourines, violins, and I’m sure plenty of others that we couldn’t see. We enjoyed every second of the performance and left hungry for more!

One quick tip, turn away from the video screen during “No Cars Go.” Those ladies are still haunting us!

Below is the full set list from the evening. Arcade Fire is making a few more stops in the U.S. before heading overseas. Grab Bonnaroo tickets or Jazz Fest tickets to catch them at the upcoming festivals. Promise it will be well worth it! And in the meantime check out this great footage of “Wake Up”!

It’s Almost Bonnaroo Time

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Bonnaroo ticket holders are packing their bags and tents and are plotting their paths to Tennessee for this weekend’s festival. The combination of Dave Matthews (tickets), Kings of Leon (tickets), Phoenix, the Flaming Lips, Norah Jones, Jay-Z, The Dead Weather and many others is a music-lovers dream. In total, about 125 bands will take the stage from June 10-13.

Bonnaroo has always stood apart from other music festivals.  Attendees get to camp-out for the four-day weekend and are treated to late night shows, impromptu jam sessions and an eclectic mix of music and comedy. In 2008, it was named “Best Festival” by Rolling Stone magazine, calling it “the ultimate over-the-top summer festival.”

For those with Bonnaroo tickets check out, The Wall Street Journal’s preview of 11 Musical Acts to See. If you don’t have Bonnaroo tickets and can’t make it to the festival this weekend, don’t worry.  Throughout the weekend log on to  Bonnaroo’s YouTube site to catch a webcast of all of your favorites throughout the weekend.

While we’re on the Festival front, those with Lollapalooza tickets can now figure out their weekend schedule. The complete Lollapalooza schedule is now online. Looks like there will be some tough decisions for Lollapalooza ticket holders. On Friday, August 6, The Strokes and Lady Gaga will perform simultaneously on the two main stages. On Saturday, concertgoers will need to choose between Phoenix and Green Day and the final day, Sunday, August 8, pits the reunited Soundgarden against Arcade Fire.
