Brad Paisley Sets Off to Conquer the UK

Friday, June 18th, 2010

Next week Brad Paisley takes his “H2O Tour” to London for two sold out shows at O2 Empire Shepherd’s Bush. Having successfully conquering the American country music scene with 17 #1 hits, Paisley is off to London with hopes of becoming a household name across the pond. Agnus Batey of London’s Guardian writes, “Paisley is doing the unthinkable: giving a serious go at cracking the UK charts. He plays two sell-out shows in London this month, the first skirmish in what he says will be a long battle to win over a nation he feels a deep affinity for. And while many of his contemporaries are content to hold up a mirror to their predominantly conservative fanbases in the Tea Party heartlands, he has released a single, Welcome to the Future, which tackles the American south’s history of racism and was inspired by Barack Obama’s election victory.”

Though “Welcome to the Future” is an ode to the diversity and progress made by America in the election of Barack Obama, Paisley believes that the overtones of the song will make an impact in any country. “Regardless of what I think about politics, I’m proud of our country for being that open-minded, and showing the world, which had sort of written us all off as all being closed-minded … ” Paisley tells the Guardian’s Batey. “I mean, we literally went and did something that even the quote-unquote open-minded countries of the world have never done. It just shows you the power of the American idea, which is that democracy can do this sorta thing.”

Nashville has not been able to garner much success in the UK outside of pop/country crossovers like Taylor Swift and Shania Twain. With that said, Paisley has put himself out on a limb with the release of his latest album, “American Saturday Night” in the UK on June 21st. His outspoken love of the British will hopefully turn into success on the UK charts. “I’m a huge, huge fan of almost everything British,” Paisley says. “But these shows are just the beginning of trying to break myself there. It’s a difficult process, because there’s certainly not a lot of country music played on the radio, so you’ve gotta find some other ways [to get heard]. But, really, I won’t take no for an answer from you guys.”

Paisley’s trip to London is in the midst of the 39 stop “H2O Tour” which also features Darius Rucker, Justin Moore and a host of newcomers. Paisley will restart his American tour on July 16th in Chicago and hit the road hard until the end of September where his tour ends in Denver, CO. Brad Paisley Tickets will be hot all summer long as he plays come of the best venues in the country with his water themed, multi-staged tour. Brad Paisley’s H2O Tour Stays Afloat and Sets Sail

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Before the devastating floods that hit Nashville two weeks ago, country superstar, Brad Paisley and his crew were getting ready to embark on their “H2O Tour”. Brad Paisley Tickets were being sold, rehearsals were scheduled and the tour was set to begin on May 21st in Virginia Beach, VA.

Paisley’s “H2O Tour” plans take him across the country to 39 stops, including three in Europe. Unfortunately, the devastating flooding hit Tennessee and ruined most of Paisley’s instruments, amps and staging equipment. Paisley is now scrambling to replace the destroyed equipment, while cleaning and fixing what can be salvaged. But Paisley remains in good spirits and wrote in an op-ed for Billboard that he and his crew will be ready for opening night.

“…But we learned about ourselves this week. I mean, my crew stood in knee-deep water lifting every last piece of equipment they could save. Then they lined up for tetanus shots. Bo O’Brien lost his jeep trying to haul off video gear, Mike Garibedian single-handedly saved our monitor rig lifting one piece at a time. And now we’re all scrambling to pull off the miracle of making it still work. We’ve always been a close group, but now we’re WWII close.”

Well, it looks like even a 100 year flood will not be able to stop this tour from being one of the hottest of the summer. Paisley has turned the H2O tour experience into a combination of a water park and a concert. There will be dunk tanks and fishing simulators, as well as charity promotions to help people who do not have clean drinking water. Two stages will be set up for the “H2O Tour”. The Waterworld Stage will be the opening stage for the show, with rising stars Easton Corbin, Josh Thompson and Steel Magnolia performing. The main stage will have another rising star, Justin Moore, as well as fan favorite Darius Rucker opening for Brad
Paisley.

Paisley is a three-time Grammy winner and the reigning ACM Male Vocalist of the Year. His songs range from the serious and sentimental; “Letter to Me” and “Waitin’ On A Woman,” to the comedic and irreverent “I’m Still a Guy” and “Online.” With 16 #1 singles, Paisley brings a packed set list to every show.
