#4 USC Trojans Ticket Preview

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Even with a slew of sanctions, a new coach and non-stop off-season controversy, USC Trojans tickets still rank #4 in our countdown of hottest college football tickets. The team may not be able to play in the post-season, but that wont stop them from ruining bowl plans for their opponents.

Lane Kiffin takes over as head coach and will try to help the Trojans bounce back after one of their worst seasons in recent history. Unlike last year, USC wont have to face heavy-weight Ohio State. However they will have an exciting game against Notre Dame at home on Nov. 27. USC will also get a chance to avenge last year’s 47-20 loss to Oregon when they take on the Ducks on Oct. 30. NFL 2010 Pre-Season Rankings

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010
Even though the NFL Season is still weeks away, fans, teams, and the media are getting excited for another year of NFL football. ESPN.com recently published their “2010 NFL Power Ranking,” which ranks all 32 NFL teams based on their overall talent and quality as a team. At FanSnap, we were curious to see how ESPN’s rankings matched up with tickets prices. That is to say, we wanted to create a “FanSnap NFL 2010 Pre-Season Ranking” list based on average NFL ticket prices in the secondary market for the upcoming season. Below are the results, with ESPN’s official Power Rankings in (parenthesis), just to the left of the average price.

FanSnap NFL 2010 Pre-Season Ranking: Average NFL ticket prices for upcoming season

  1. New York Giants tickets (16): $468
  2. New Orleans Saints tickets (2): $404

  30. Buffalo Bills tickets (31): $168
  31. Cleveland Browns tickets (28): $153
  32. Atlanta Falcons tickets (8): $91

The New York Giants are a middle-of-the-pack 16 on the ESPN list, but the G-men are tops in ticket demand in part because they play out of the biggest sports market in the U.S. But, The Giants and the New York Jets share something that is driving up demand and ticket prices — their brand new home, the New Meadowlands Stadium.

There are a few surprising results on our list, especially the New England Patriots rank of 27th in fan demand. Boston sports teams are consistently some of the hottest in all of sports. This year, Pats ticket prices are down compared to the rest of the NFL.

For all NFL tickets to the upcoming NFL season, check out FanSnap for great values on the best available tickets in the secondary ticket market.

Atlanta Falcons Tickets on sale Thursday, July 29

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Expectations are high in Atlanta where the team is coming off back-to-back winning seasons (the first time in franchise history). Fans are hopeful this is their year to finally make the playoffs and are ready to scoop up Atlanta Falcons tickets when they go on sale Thursday morning at 10 a.m.

The team returns QB Matt Ryan and RB Michael Turner who both battled injuries last year. If the two can stay healthy they make a dangerous team for opposing defenses. But even if the Saints take the division the Falcons could be in line for a wild card slot and their first playoff appearance since 2005.

Houston Texans Tickets on sale Friday, July 30

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Matt Shaub and Andre Johnson were one of the hottest tandems in the league last year. Will 2010 be a repeat? Your chance to check them out is almost here. Houston Texans tickets go on sale Friday July 30.

As Andy Benoit of NFLTouchdown.com said: There’s more talent here than ever before. But it’s also the fourth consecutive year we’ve said this. The difference, this time, is depth. The Texans are very firm throughout the second string. Anything less than a wild-card berth will be an underachievement.

The Texans have weapons on both sides of the ball. But can they put it all together into a solid team? Will Owen Daniels be able to recover from his ACL surgery? Will Steve Slaton stop fumbling or will the team turn to rookie Ben Tate? Will the team be able to replace Brian Cushing during his suspension? And will Kris Brown stop missing field goals (if he even makes the team)?

Sure there are question marks but there’s also a lot of enthusiasm and buzz around the team. The Texans box office is expecting to sell out all games, however they are expecting exceptionally high demand for Texans-Cowboys tickets (Sept 26) and Texans-Ravens tickets (12/13) which will be featured on Monday Night Football.

In addition to those two games, the Texans have match-ups with AFC South Division rivals the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans. Mark your calendars for July 30 to grab your Houston Texans tickets.

NFL Tickets Single Game On Sales in July

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

NFL fans who sell their extra football tickets on the dozens of ticket sites searched by FanSnap have been making their listings available for some time now, of course.  Most are season ticket holders who are selling the extras for games they can not attend.

Many fans buy these hot tickets as soon as possible to lock in in their entertainment plans.  However, many football fans wait until the team makes any unsold tickets from the box office available first.  If those fans don’t find tickets from the team that meet their needs, then they come to FanSnap.

This moment of truth is called the single game tickets on sale date.  At some point after each NFL team is convinced they have sold all the season tickets they can, each team releases their remaining available tickets to the general public.  A number of teams have already done so.  A few teams wait until sometime in August right before the preseason games start.

The following NFL teams have single game “on sales” coming up in July:

Jul 11  Cleveland Browns tickets

Jul 17  Baltimore Ravens tickets

Jul 18  Tennessee Titans tickets

Jul 18  Denver Broncos tickets

Jul 25  Chicago Bears tickets

Good luck, football fans!  If you don’t find what you want, you know where to find us.  As you can see, there are thousands of ticket listings per game available, some with your name on them!

NFL Schedule Equals NFL Tickets!

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Today the NFL announced the regular season schedule, much to the delight of football fans everywhere.  WhIle the match-ups have been available for a while, now fans know the actual dates.

What most fans don’t know is that even though the tickets for those games will not be delivered to season ticketholders for some time, long time ticketholders already know where their seats are.  As a result, some of those fans have already listed some of their tickets for resale on many sites around the web.  Of course, there will be many more fans buying and selling up to and throughout the season.

However, if you want to lock those tickets in now, you can search for your favorite team on FanSnap already.

There are some great early season games that just jump off the schedule!

(Sep 14) Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots

(Sep 20) Pittsburgh Steelers @ Chicago Bears

(Sep 20) NY Giants @ Dallas Cowboys

(Sep 27) Miami Dolphins @ San Diego Chargers

(Oct 11) Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans

As Hank says, “Are you ready for some football?!”

NFL Games Mean NFL Tickets

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

As usual, the NFL released the dates for a handful of games early, all to be held on either Kickoff Weekend or Thanksgiving Day.

Sep 10 Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers

Sep 13 Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers

Sep 14 Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

Sep 14 San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders

Nov 26 Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

Nov 26 Oakland Raiders at Dallas Cowboys

Nov 26 NY Giants at Denver Broncos

Since long-time season ticket holders already know their seat locations, some are already listing their tickets for sale, even before they physically receive them. Over the next few weeks you will see many more listings flood in.  A little known secret, if you want to lock that purchase in early.

While the 2009 NFL team match-ups have already been announced, the actual dates for the remainder of the schedule are typically released sometime in April.
