Glee Live! and Conan O’Brien Tour Tickets NYC Smackdown

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Glee tickets” has been one of the most popular ticket-search terms used on FanSnap since the fictional kids from McKinley High sang at the World Series. In the last few days, FanSnap has been abuzz with searches for “Conan O’Brien tickets” — since the former Tonight Show host began Twittering about taking his show on the road. There are currently hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of Glee Live tickets and Conan O’Brien tour tickets can currently be found with FanSnap.

That got us to thinking.

Both are less traditional tours birthed from television shows, albeit under very different circumstances. One is a brand new show with lots of buzz and and seemingly endless numbers of fans that can’t get enough of their singing. The other one of the longest running shows on television with a very public shake up.

Which tour will be more popular?

Both tours will be in New York within a few days of each other. Glee is performing three shows at Radio City Music Hall on May 28 and 29. Conan O’Brien will be performing at Radio City on June 1.  There are three Glee Live! events, at Radio City in two days. Conan has one. Here’s how it breaks down.

Glee Live in New York

Average price for a ticket = $220.

Conan O’Brien in New York

“Golden” Glee Concert Tour this Summer

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Glee won the Golden Globe© for best comedy or musical series! Yay! Now we hear via Entertainment Weekly and Pollstar that Julia Roberts, Julianne Moore and Neil Patrick Harris may appear in upcoming episodes and Madonna is filming a Glee episode right now. Our DVRs are set!

We first predicted in an October post that you’d Find Glee Live tickets on FanSnap. That was when we heard  that the Glee cast would sing the National Anthem at the World Series. We were so excited in November when producer Ryan Murphy confirmed that the Glee cast will be touring in Summer 2010, after Season 1 wraps up.

Today, Finn Hudson (aka Cory Monteith) posted on Twitter that, “There is going to be a live #glee concert tour! in select cities; limited appearances. Announcement and details soon. So excited!”

Find Glee Live tickets.

Glee wraps taping in April so we should expect to see a Glee concert tour announcement, complete with cities and date around then. You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find… you get what you need. …and we need Glee!

Glee More Popular Than Ever- Glee Tour Confirmed

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Since our last post about Glee, the show and cast have only gotten more popular. We predicted an upcoming Glee tour and soon thereafter producer Ryan Murphy confirmed that the Glee cast will be touring in Summer 2010, after Season 1 wraps up. Yay! Find Glee Live tickets.

Yes, there are some cringeful moments (recall Finn singing about being Quinn’s baby mama at a family dinner in last week’s episode), but those quirks are part of the fun.

There are also some—many—wow moments such as the diva-off between Rachel and Kurt singing Wicked’s Defying Gravity. I saw the Wicked Musical in San Francisco after the episode aired and then ended up watching that part of the Glee episode several times, courtesy of my DVR. You can hear Rachel’s version in the YouTube link below:

Glee’s popularity is evident with the incessant internet buzz, their performance of the national anthem at the third game of the 2009 World Series, the number of iTunes downloads and, of course, the casts’ now-regular features in weekly gossip magazine, US Weekly :)

The 12-person star cast comes with an impressive background, a few are highlighted below:

Will Schuester, Glee club director, is played by Matthew Morrison who has been in several Broadway productions, including Link Larkin in Hairspray.

Sue Sylvester, and nutty head cheerleading squad coach, is played by Jane Lynch who has many comedic wins under her belt, including The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Best in Show.

Rachel Berry, unpopular star of the Glee club and my personal favorite, is played by Lea Michele who starred as Wendla in Spring Awakening.

Quinn Fabray, former head cheerleader who is pregnant on the show, is played by Dianna Argon who has appeared on various television shows, such as Veronica Mars and CSI: NY.

Finn Hudson, quarterback of the football team, is played by native Canadian Cory Monteith who appeared in movies such as Final Destination 3 and Kyle XY.

FanSnap will be sure to keep you posted when Glee Live tickets go on sale for their Summer tour.
