NBA Tickets Galore

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Welcome to the 2009-10 NBA season.  Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are looking to repeat.  The Celtics are looking to get Kevin Garnett, and their swagger, back. LeBron James and Dwight Howard got close last year, and they are ready to lead their teams again in the quest of that first ring.

Many of the NBA teams are having their single game onsales this week.  They have been selling season ticket and multi-game packages for weeks, and now it is time to sell what’s left.  All along, ticket listings offered by existing season ticket holders have been available.

The first NBA games start in October.  Many more tickets will become available throughout the year, but a quick search on FanSnap of most games finds thousands of ticket listings from many ticket providers already.  Check out the great tickets (and values) available from last year’s playoff teams:

The Lakers have jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. As the series moves from Los Angeles  to Orlando, we’re seeing NBA Finals tickets to the Orlando games come down in price even as tickets become more scarce. On Friday, a search for tickets on FanSnap to the upcoming Orlando games yielded get-in prices of $205, $208 and $225 for the Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday games respectively. Now, Magic fans can find tickets as low as $144, $182 and $190 for those same games — far less than what tickets were going for in L.A.

(UPDATED June 5, noon)

Lakers fans in L.A. are showing signs that they think the Finals will be over in five games. The NBA Finals are slated to be 2-3-2 (two games in L.A., three in Orlando and then two more in L.A. if necessary). With the win last night and the demand for NBA Finals tickets today, we think Lakers fans are expecting to win the series in Orlando — making Sunday’s game the last chance Lakers fans get to see their team in L.A. this year.

Yesterday, get-in prices (the lowest price ticket) for game two were $269. Today, get-in prices are $300 and the number of tickets listed is down to 2,500+ from 3,000+ yesterday.

Game 1 — Lakers def. Magic 100 – 75
Game 2 Orlando Magic @ Los Angeles Lakers Sun, Jun 7 –  2,500+ tickets from $300*
Game 3 Los Angeles Lakers @ Orlando Magic Tue, Jun 9 –  4,000+ tickets from $205
Game 4 Los Angeles Lakers @ Orlando Magic Thu, Jun 11 — 4,000+ tickets from $208
Game 5 Los Angeles Lakers @ Orlando Magic Sun, Jun 14 — 4,000+ tickets from $225

Love Those Game 7’s!

Friday, May 1st, 2009

The Bulls withstood Ray Allen dropping 51 with their “instant classic” triple overtime win over the Celtics. The Heat, behind 41 from D-Wade, spanked the Hawks. NBA fans, even though it is still the first round, we have a couple of awesome game 7’s!

If you are in town, there are lots of great tickets listed for sale:

Bulls @ Celtics 600 tickets listed at $123+ Saturday

Heat @ Hawks 1600 tickets listed at $39+ (WOW!)   Sunday

If not, stake out that spot in front of the flat screen and have a great time. Maybe invite some friends over. The ones that say that NBA basketball is not exciting. I am pretty sure a lot of “honey-do’s” are not getting done this weekend.
