U2 announced today Bono is back in action and the U.S. leg of the U2 360° tour has been rescheduled for 2011.  U2 was slated to tour the U.S. in 2010, but that was put on hold when U2 lead-singer,  Bono had emergency back surgery just days prior to the first date of the U.S leg. U2 Tickets for the rescheduled performances will continue to be honored so if you already have your U2 Tickets for a 2010 date, hold onto them. They’ll get you in the door in 2011. U2’s European tour was not impacted and begins as scheduled on August 6th in Turin.

UPDATE:

The U2360° North American Tour will be postponed until 2011.

Shows from Salt Lake City on June 3rd, through to New Jersey’s Meadowlands Stadium on July 19th, will be rescheduled for 2011.

We’ve just been informed that U2 lead singer, Bono, has had to undergo emergency back surgery. The band is postponing the scheduled June 3 Salt Lake City kick-off of the band’s North American leg of the 360 tour. It remains unclear if/what other dates will be effected.

BONO UNDERGOES SURGERY

Bono has today undergone emergency back surgery for an injury sustained during tour preparation training. He was admitted to a specialist neuro surgery unit in a Munich hospital, and is under the care of neuro surgeon Prof. Dr. Jorg Tonn and Dr Muller Wohlfahrt. Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate. Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates.

U2 360 SALT LAKE CITY POSTPONEMENT

Following Bono’s unexpected back surgery earlier today, Live Nation confirmed that the U2 U2360° tour launch previously scheduled for June 3rd in Salt Lake City has been postponed. U2 fans with tickets to the June 3rd event are encouraged to retain tickets until updated show information can be provided.

The band did a nice job of keeping fans up to date immediately after the surgery, but they’ve been silent since the 21st. We will be keeping a close eye on further developments and announce rescheduled dates as soon as we learn of them. Updates will also be reflected at  http://www.fansnap.com/u2-tickets.

Did you miss out on U2 tickets when they toured North America this summer? No worries, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen, Jr. extended the 360 Tour dates into 2010 and just announced they’ll welcome Lenny Kravitz, The Fray and Interpol to selected tour stops when the 360 Tour returns to North America in June.

Lenny Kravitz will open the Salt Lake City, Anaheim and Denver shows. The Fray will open Oakland, Seattle and Edmonton. Interpol will kick things off in Minneapolis, East Lansing, Toronto, Chicago, Miami and Philly.
