After undergoing emergency back surgery three months ago and being forced to reschedule their entire North American tour, Bono has returned to the stage! The band is currently trekking through Europe hitting Spain, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and more. Fans are raving about the shows saying Bono is bouncing around like his old self – no signs of back surgery. U2 ticket holders are loving the mix of their favorite songs, including “Beautiful Day,” “Mysterious Ways,” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” which seem to make the set list of every show!
The band heads back the United States next spring and there are still plenty of U2 tickets available. In addition to the tunes they are currently playing, MTV.com is reporting U2 is hard at work on a new album – a “club-sounding album” – and that they hope to have it out in time for the North American tour. This of course is in addition to the tunes they have penned for the new Broadway musical, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”
Wow. These guys never take a break! Even when they are laid up in bed following major back surgery.
U2 tours are always amazing. The band currently has 16 North American dates slotted starting in May 2011 and wrapping up in June. Don’t miss your chance to catch them live. Find your U2 tickets with FanSnap!

We’ve just been informed that U2 lead singer, Bono, has had to undergo emergency back surgery. The band is postponing the scheduled June 3 Salt Lake City kick-off of the band’s North American leg of the 360 tour. It remains unclear if/what other dates will be effected.
U2 has not released any new information since May 21. From U2.com…
BONO UNDERGOES SURGERY
Bono has today undergone emergency back surgery for an injury sustained during tour preparation training. He was admitted to a specialist neuro surgery unit in a Munich hospital, and is under the care of neuro surgeon Prof. Dr. Jorg Tonn and Dr Muller Wohlfahrt. Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate. Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates.
U2 360 SALT LAKE CITY POSTPONEMENT
Following Bono’s unexpected back surgery earlier today, Live Nation confirmed that the U2 U2360° tour launch previously scheduled for June 3rd in Salt Lake City has been postponed. U2 fans with tickets to the June 3rd event are encouraged to retain tickets until updated show information can be provided.

The band did a nice job of keeping fans up to date immediately after the surgery, but they’ve been silent since the 21st. We will be keeping a close eye on further developments and announce rescheduled dates as soon as we learn of them. Updates will also be reflected at http://www.fansnap.com/u2-tickets.
We reported a few weeks ago that Lady Gaga had just become the first artist to surpass one billion online video views across her three most popular videos: Poker Face, Bad Romance, and Just Dance. That was without having the most viewed video on YouTube.
Now it looks like Lady Gaga is the Queen of YouTube too. Her video for Bad Romance is now the most viewed video in YouTube history. Nice timing for Lady Gaga. Tickets for her return to the U.S. are heating up. Here is the Bad Romance video that is currently tops in YouTube land.
Lady Gaga kicks off the second leg or her U.S. Monster Ball tour in Boston on July 1 and 2 at the TD Garden.
We took a look at the most searched artists on FanSnap to see just how popular “Lady Gaga tickets” have been. Here’s the top 10 most searched concert tickets on FanSnap.

There was no lack of news in 2009 that impacted ticket values. In the world of sports, the unfolding Tiger Woods story, Michael Vick’s reinstatement and signing by the Eagles, Shaq’s move to the Cavaliers, and Manny Ramirez’s fifty game suspension from the Dodgers were all big news but:
The #1 sports tickets story in 2009 was the courtship and signing of Brett Favre by the Minnesota Vikings.
Rumors that Brett Favre might come out of retirement kept market prices for Minnesota Vikings tickets in the weeks around the fourth of July at about $125. On July 29th, however, Favre announced that he would stay retired — sending Vikings tickets market prices down to $103 the week of August 9th. On August 19th, Favre reconsidered and signed with the Vikings, whose ticket market prices rose and have stayed at about $150 since.
Concert tickets too were in the news in 2009. U2 tickets for their stadium tours were in huge demand. Blink 182 reunited and toured for the first time in years. The Weezer, Aerosmith, and Elton John/Billy Joel tours were interrupted by a bus crash, stage fall, and the flu, respectively. Kanye West’s interruption of the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) led to the end of the planned ‘Fame Kills’ tour with Lady Gaga, who is now headlining her own highly successful tour. Lady Gaga tickets are among the hottest concert tickets currently found with FanSnap. All exciting, but Kanye’s antics had another impact:
The #1 concert tickets story in 2009 is the rapid rise in popularity of Taylor Swift immediately following the VMAs
Market prices for Taylor Swift tickets during the summer had been holding steady at about $250. Immediately after the VMAs on Sep 13th, Taylor Swift ticket market prices rose to as high as $317 as demand exploded. Of course, demand creates supply as the Taylor Swift camp has subsequently added 34 dates to their tour, which is moderating market prices.
The L.A. Times released the top artists of 2000-2009. The numbers were calculated based on album sales and concert tickets. Celine Dion’s stint in Las Vegas was huge for her ticket sales and propelled her to the top of the list. If that trend holds, look for Garth Brooks to top this list in 2020.
The Ultimate Top 10 of the Decade:
1. Celine Dion (tickets), $747.9 million. Dion pulled in $522.2 million in concert-ticket sales for the decade. Adding $225.7 million worth of album sales during those same 10 years.
2. Kenny Chesney (tickets), $742 million. His total includes $455.6 million in concert ticket sales and $286.4 million in album revenue.
3. Dave Matthews Band (tickets), $737.4 million. Matthews’ decade concert total of $529.1 million put him first on the list of top North American live music attractions of the decade, as calculated by the concert-tracking publication Pollstar. The band posted $208.3 million in album sales.
4. The Beatles, $627.3 million. Although the quartet disbanded 30 years before the decade began, the Beatles still managed to generate $392.3 million from sales of 30.2 million albums (using an average of $13 per album). The $627.3 million includes ex-Beatle Paul McCartney ($221.4 million) and Ringo Starr ($13.6 million), given that their concert audiences consist in large part of Beatles fans. The Fab Four also logged the single bestselling album of the decade, the “1″ hits collection, with 11.5 million copies.
5. U2 (tickets), $609.7 million. The Irish rock quartet brought in $391 million at the box office and $218.7 million in album sales.
6. Toby Keith (tickets), $591.9 million. The second of three country acts in the Top 10, the Oklahoma singer and songwriter logged $273.8 million on the concert trail, $318.1 million from album sales.
7. Bruce Springsteen, $588.3 million. On the road, both with the E Street Band and his various non-E Street tours, the Boss brought in $444.3 million. His album take: $144 million.
8. The Rolling Stones, $569.6 million. The Stones also benefited heavily from touring, earning $426.9 million at the box office in addition to $142.7 million in album sales. Rolling Stones tickets
9. Tim McGraw (tickets), $550.7 million. Strictly as a solo act, the country singer-songwriter ranks No. 14 on the list. But he toured several times with his wife, Faith Hill, during the decade. California being a community property state, we are awarding him half the revenue those outings generated. So his total includes $322 million in album sales, $133.7 million from his own tours and $95 million for his half of the McGraw-Hill shows.
10. Britney Spears, $494.3 million. Despite a rocky decade personally and professionally, Spears pulled in $195.7 million at the box office and sold $298.6 million worth of albums for the 10-year period.
The L.A. Times created the same list for artists in 2009. Here is the list. Check the L.A. Times for the details.
U2 — $137.3 million ($123 million box office, $14.3 million albums). U2 tickets
Springsteen — $102 million ($94.5 million box office, $7.5 million in albums)
Michael Jackson — $100 million in album revenue
Brittney Spears — $89.5 million ($82.5 million in concert ticket sales and $7 million in album revenue)
Our favorite artists and bands are starting to announce their 2010 concert tour schedules. This promises to be a huge year for monster tours. In fact, concert tour announcements have gone from one or two a week to two and three a day. In addition to some of the biggest acts in the world — U2 tickets and Taylor Swift tickets topped our hot tickets list of 2009 — extending their 2009 tours into 2010, here are concert tours being announced this week.
Five For Fighting tickets and dates for a U.S. tour following up the band’s October release, “Slice,” which we think should have been called, “Slashing,” were also announced today.
The Eagles, yes, one of the biggest bands in history, announced more dates and stops on what is now just a few stops on the west coast for the band’s Long Road Out Of Eden tour. Fingers crossed that they announce a full blown tour very soon. Check out Eagles tickets for So. Cal., No. Cal., BC and Phoenix.
Jeff Beck tickets to his out headlining tour were announced earlier this week. Jeff Beck is currently on the road with Eric Clapton now and will continue his own tour in April. Eric Clapton will continue touring with Roger Daltrey and then Steve Winwood through the spring.
Kenny Chesney tickets to a few shows in Vegas were announced this week. We know there are a lot of Kenny Chesney fans out there wondering if Kenny will hit the road this summer. We’ll let you know. We’ll also look for Mr. You Had Me At Hello at the Super Bowl where he’s sure to be rooting on his buddy Payton Manning.
Harry Connick Jr. tickets to 12 dates in February that have the Jazz man crisscrossing the south were announced this week.
The Peter Gabriel tickets and dates announcement on Monday kick the week off with us singing “Sledge Hammer” and “In Your Eyes” and then debating which was the best Cameron Crowe movie.
Did you miss out on U2 tickets when they toured North America this summer? Did you watch U2 on YouTube and now you have to catch Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen, Jr. live and in person? You’re in luck. U2 announced new 2010 360° tour dates via its website. North American fans are rattling and humming (I know, but come on. U2 will be back in 2010!!!) at the prospect of scoring tickets.
The tour will touch down next summer in Anaheim; Denver; Oakland; Seattle; Edmonton; East Lansing; Miami; Philadelphia and Montreal. U2 360° will also return for one night only in Toronto and Chicago before finishing the North American leg in New York at the New Meadowlands Stadium.
Music fans were on FanSnap in record numbers during October searching for their favorite performing artists on tour! Taylor Swift (this week’s Saturday Night Live guest), Miley Cyrus, and U2 (who just announced new 2010 dates) remained the top three most searched for concert tickets. The Boss moved up two slots from last month to #4 and Jay-Z, hot off his World Series game two performance, was up SIX slots to the #5 position.
Despite his recent reschedulings due to being under the weather, Elton John (touring with Billy Joel) returns to the hot list, along with AC/DC and Phish. Madonna’s wrestling partner, Lady Gaga, as well as TSBO are new to the list in October also.
We may be mistaken but it seems like the Summer concert season just didn’t feel like ending! Bands continue to rock into the Fall and there are an amazing number of concert tours on the road, led by Irish rockers U2, who are filling the largest stadiums in the land.
During September, big movers up the list as the most searched for artist on FanSnap were Billy Ray’s daughter Miley, the amazingly resilient Taylor Swift (take that, Kanye), the Boss (with FIVE shows at the Meadowlands), and “Enter Sandman” wild men Metallica.
Half of the “hot list” are new this month, reflecting the diversity of music fans’ passion – including everyone from rockers Kiss, Pink, and Pearl Jam, to smooth singing Brad Paisley, to Beyonce’s man Jay-Z.
At long last, U2 opened its tour in Chicago Saturday and the early buzz is great!
The last few days, U2 fans have been coming to the FanSnap ticket search engine in droves to compare the thousands of ticket listings from the dozens of ticket sites we partner with. With so much choice, finding best values is fast and easy.
One other thing is readily apparent. If you are willing to travel (especially from LA), not only do you have the chance to see your favorite Irish band in a number of great venues – there is a big difference in asking prices!
Check out some great values from around the country (noted by the blue stars in the FanSnap Maps) as of early Friday a.m.:
You can see the entire U2 tour here. Check back often, as with so many tickets left, there should be downward pressure on asking prices as the event nears.
The concert season continues to rock as music fans have an amazing array of live event choices, led by the return of Blink 182. Tom DeLonge has checked out from his Angels and Airwaves duty. The band has rescheduled a few shows, as Travis Barker, who miraculously survived that harrowing jet crash with DJ AM, now mourns the loss of his friend.
During August, big movers as the most searched for artist on FanSnap were the American Idols tour, Lil Wayne, and U2. Britney and Miley moved into the top 15 “hot list” this month, as did Kings of Leon, touring on the strength of their superhot single “Use Somebody.”
One important note if you buy Miley Cyrus tickets. The entire shows are paperless – or “will call” only – so if you buy tickets, be prepared to meet the seller at the show to be escorted in. As result, you will notice fewer available tickets and generally higher prices than otherwise would be the case.
The summer concert season continues to rock! During June, the top four most searched for concert tickets on the FanSnap ticket search engine stayed the same as they were in May, with a little reshuffling. The Jonas Brothers catapulted to the #1 most searched for tour, followed by Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and the American Idols.
There are so many great tours going on, we expanded the “hot list” to 15 this month. Also, breaking into the list in June were Blink 182 (welcome back, boys!), U2, Paul McCartney (with hopefully many more shows to be announced soon), and Green Day!
What an unbelievable concert season!Which concert tickets did fans search for the most? While newer artists Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift are still leading the pack, the fans of the jam bands and rockers are representing. Enter Sandman…
Personally, I am really looking forward to seeing Coldplay at Shoreline Amphitheatre this summer.Using FanSnap, I found (and locked up) amazing tickets way upfront center for over $75 less EACH than the surrounding other tickets for sale.Viva la Vida!
Last week, tickets for the U2 360 tour went on sale for the shows in Chicago, Boston, and New Jersey. As you would expect from one of the most popular bands in the world, the original distribution of tickets from the box office sold in minutes. Second shows were added.Of course, those tickets sold as well.
Tomorrow morning, the “onsales” for DC, Atlanta, Tampa, LA, and Vancouver will go similarly. With a new album, fresh off an entire week of appearances on Letterman, and millions of loyal fans, sellouts will abound.
If you found great tickets for face value from the box office amongst the monsoon of rabid U2 fans, congratulations! It might be your time to pick up a lottery ticket, as you are on a roll.
All the remaining fans who were unable to get tickets from the box office, or who want better than what they were offered, are already searching the web looking for tickets. This is exactly the dynamic that the ticket market serves so well – putting together fans who really want tickets with those who might be willing to sell theirs, at the right price.
Check out FanSnap, as we have already found those fans selling on dozens of ticket sites. There are already thousands of tickets available for all of these shows, and the rest of the tour as well.Good hunting!
