The Central Michigan University football team, the CMU Chippewas, plays in Division I Football Bowl Subdivision in the Mid-American Conference. The Chippewas are one of the top 25 programs in college football based on all-time winning percentage. They play their home games at Kelly/Shorts Stadium, located in on campus in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The stadium was opened in 1972 and holds 30,295 people.
