Florida Atlantic University is represented by the Florida Atlantic Owls, which is a mid-major NCAA Division I college basketball team. The team currently competes in the Sun Belt Conference. Entering the conference in the 2006-2007 season, the Owns have shown signs of maturing into a national competitor. They play their home games at FAU Arena, which is located on the Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University.
