Georgia State University's football team, the Georgia State Panthers, play in NCAA's Division I Football Championship Subdivision. Competing as an independent presently, the Panthers are slated to join the Colonial Athletic Association in 2012. Their home games are played at the Georgia Dome, located off-campus in Atlanta, Georgia; the Georgia Dome seats a daunting 71,228 screaming GSU fans.
