Jackson Browne is an American singer-songwriter whose political interests resonate in his popular songs. He came to prominence in the 1970s and ‘80s. He has performed at a number of benefit concerts, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International. In 1995, he performed at Lincoln Center in The Wizard of Oz: Concert of Dreams to benefit the Children's Defense Center. In August 2008, he performed at the ALMA awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 by friend and contemporary Bruce Springsteen.
