The American musical Legally Blonde opened in 2007 in San Francisco, and is based on the novel and movie by the same name. The story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School and discovers how her knowledge of law can help others, has been adapted into a musical format with music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and book by Heather Hach. The musical opened on Broadway in April 2007, and would later tour the U.S., South Korea, and the Phillippines.
