The Los Angeles Kings are probably best known to modern hockey fans for their 1988 acquisition of superstar and all-time great Wayne Gretzky. The Gretzky days are long gone, but now rebuilding, the team reached the playoffs in 2009-2010 behind Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar. The Kings share the Staples Center with NBA's Lakers and Clippers. The 2010-11 squad is looking to repeat last year's success and snatch a playoff berth from other would-be contenders in the Pacific division.
