On December 4, 1956, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash got together to perform an impromptu jam session titled, The Million Dollar Quartet. Writers Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott have dramatized this jam session into a musical with the same name. It first opened in September 2008 for a limited run, and later expanded. The show was nominated for three Tony Awards in 2010 and won Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for the portrayal of Jerry Lewis.
