The University of Missouri's basketball team is known as the Tigers. The men's program, currently coached by Mike Smith (since 2006) has produced a number of NBA players, and has been a perennial contender in college basketball. The Tigers reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament in 2009, the third quarterfinal berth in school history. Their home games are played at the 15,000-seat Mizzou Arena. In 2005, Missouri was ranked No. 38 on a list of 100 greatest basketball programs of all-time by Street & Smith's Annual.
