After filing for bankruptcy in 2009 and handing over control to the NHL, the Phoenix Coyotes (formerly the Winnipeg Jets until 1997) had their most successful season since the beginning of the decade, ending the 2009-10 regular season with 107 points and losing in the Western Conference quarterfinals to the Detroit Red Wings. The only franchise in the Southwest, they have a lot of potential for growing hockey in this warm region, and so Coyotes tickets are going fast.
