Featuring songs from popular glam metal 80's bands such as Styx, Bon Jovi, Poison, Twisted Sister and Steve Perry to name a few, Rock of Ages is a rock musical with a bit of jukebox mixed in. The performers and writers have tried to showcase a lighter side as an alternative to other rock musicals presently on Broadway stages. The actors continuously interact with the audience, almost forgetting (as part of their script) that they are actors in a musical. Rock of Ages premiered in Los Angeles in January 2006 and is currently touring nationwide.
