Based on the 1992 hit comedy of the same name, Sister Act is a West End musical produced by Stage Entertainment and the star of the movie, Whoopi Goldberg. It premiered at the Pasadena Playhouse in October 2006, with lyrics by Glenn Slater, music by Alan Menken, the book for the musical written by Bill and Cherie Steinkellner. It was nominated as Best New Musical at the 2010 Laurence Olivier Awards.
