American rock band Styx reached its peak in the 1970s and '80s. They used progressive rock with hard rock guitars, and strong ballads to replicate the flair of a Broadway musical. Styx started out by playing in local clubs and schools, and established a fan base in the Chicago area. The band was nominated for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group at the 22nd Grammy Awards (1980). The band is best known for its hit songs "Lady," "Come Sail Away," and "Mr. Roboto," among others.
