Ted Nugent started out as lead guitarist of The Amboy Dukes before embarking on a career as a solo guitarist and vocalist. Originally from Detroit, he has made more than 34 albums and sold 30 million records. He was known for using Fender amps as part of his signature sound and played the hollow Gibson Byrdland guitar, with Gibson Guitar Corporation later developing a model named after Nugent.
