The xx

Originally a four-member band, the xx (pronounced "ex ex") are a post-pop trio from London. They founding members met at Elliott School, an institution with a history of producing musicians. In 2009 keyboardist Baria Qureshi left the group, but Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith remained. Their self-titled 2009 debut self-titled album was met with critical acclaim, and in September 2010 xx won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize. In addition to a number of other accolades, the band's music has been featured on several American TV shows.
