American writer, stand-up comedian and actress Wanda Sykes was named as one of the 25 funniest people in America by Entertainment Weekly in 2004. She is well known for her role as "Barb" on CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine and for her recurring character (playing herself) on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm series. Her writing won her an Emmy in the year 1999 for The Chris Rock Show, and Sykes now has her own late-night talk show, The Wanda Sykes Show, which premiered on FOX in November 2009.
