Country singer Willie Nelson, apart from being a songwriter, author, poet and actor, has also been an activist, achieving fame during the outlaw country movement of the 1970s with his 1976 Wanted! The Outlaws, country's first platinum album. Nelson has appeared in several films as well, and now in his seventies, he continues to tour and perform in concerts and fundraisers and records albums in prolifically new genres that embrace reggae, blues, jazz, folk and popular music.
